TT-Watch "Posse"

The "Posse" is the group of moderators who police the various Troubled Times Yahoo Groups. TT-Watch being the most prominent group, however, tt-social, tt-forum and tt-welcome are also policed by the same people.

Below is a description by George Gantner explaining the origin of the "posse".

"The way the posse REALLY came about was: In February 2001, Clipper put out
a call for help in moderating the lists, as he was going to be away from
access to the internet for several months. The first to volunteer was Sol,
who in his joking way, offered to help out the "sheriff", phrased like an
old cowboy movie. Brent and I quickly followed in volunteering, picking up
on the joke and speaking the same way. Brent (president of TT-inc) was the
first to use the word "posse", and it stuck. There are currently 9 members
of the posse."

"When we discuss moderation issues and disruptors on our own, we often have a
lighthearted tone and joke around, as moderating lists can be a thankless
and often dull task. Far from being tools of some external power source, we
operate very independently, even discussing our "anarchic" self-governing
style as something which could be quite useful in a post-PS world."
