I got 30x2min CCD images of the Sep 15 coordinates

using a Takahashi Mewlon 300 - 3572mm telescope in the

dark skies of Arizona! 10 with a clear filter and 20 with a

red filter.

Steve Havas

Steve's images, available as downloaded FITS files

Steve's images:

- were secured between 1:30 and 3:30 AM on Sat Sep 21, 2002.

- includ 10 luminescent, 20 re filter, and 6 dark images

- is focused on the Sep 15 coordinates RA 4.400347 Dec 12.14128

- coordinates converted are RA 4 24 01, Dec 12 08 29.

More info from the Sep 28, 2002 IRC session:

(NancyL) Am I right in understanding that the CCD camera
that Steve is using is NOT in an observatory, right?

(NancyL) Thus, it is amateur equipment.

(Lace) It's in a private observatory

(SteveH) That's right Nancy, not in an observatory

(Lace) $20,000 of amateur equipment

(SteveH) Bobs, the scope used for these images was only 11.8"

(Lace) 12"

(SteveH) It was "amateur" equipment

(Lace) Limiting magnitude for that instrument is 14.7

The location of the coordinates has been identified by Pierre-Eric on an

ESO archive image:

Which goes to show that neither Nancy Lieder or Steve Havas know what
an "observatory" is. Here we have Nancy desperately trying to justify
her claim of "Planet X will be visible in amateur telescopes by
mid-2002".

The Tak/SBIG instruments that took the images belong to Arnie Rosner,
http://www.arnierosner.com/are/index.htm
and are housed at the Sonoran Skies Observatory along with other high
end instruments.

I suppose their understanding of an "observatory" means the telescopes
must be housed under a white dome and be "controlled by NASA" and the
"disinformation agents". Roll-off roofs are apparently unacceptable as
an "observatory" structure.

Leave it to Nancy to post her and Steve Havas' ignorance of astronomy
for the world to see.
